A couple of weeks ago, my wife and I were looking for a quiet place to have our dinner on a Friday evening and we found Sangokai Japanese Restaurant located along Beach Road opposite Park Royal Hotel. The menu selection are pretty decent with option for set meals, but we choose to order the following ala carte dishes:
The fresh fish as seen on the top right of the collage was recommended by the service staff as it was just flown in from Japan earlier that day! (not sure what fish was it but it tasted really fresh and sweet) The bones and head of the fish was subsequently deep fried to create another dish as seen on the top left. It was so crispy that practically the fish bone and head are completely edible!
My personal favorite will be the Flamed Grilled Cheese with Scallop (centre), Flamed Phoenix Roll (bottom right) and Sashimi.
I will recommend this place (Beach Road Outlet) if you want to bring your lady for a quiet date with decent Japanese food. They have another outlet at Thomson Road next to the Long House.
